About the South Carolina-based Cripple Creek band members:

Connie Fox Lowe is originally from Dayton, Ohio but she and Bill have lived in South Carolina for the past 14 years.  She is a schoolteacher and her love for music started when she was young because her dad, Foxy, was an old time fiddler.  She plays rhythm guitar and sings lead and harmony. In 1987 Connie was honored by the state of Kentucky and became a Kentucky Colonel. Connie has recorded numerous projects with Bill and Cripple Creek and she is the one that keeps them all organized.

Ben Carpenter grew up in Western North Carolina. His dad is a mandolin picker and his grandfather was an old time fiddler. He is now passing the music on to his children who are learning to play mandolin, bass and fiddle. He was born in Franklin, NC and now lives in Walhalla, SC.

Mike Crane became interested in the banjo and bluegrass music when the hit theme song "Dueling Banjos" from the movie "Deliverance" hit the A.M. airwaves in the early 70's. Originally from Oklahoma, Mike has settled in Oconee County South Carolina.
